Smart Marriages Pre and Post Conference Training Institutes:
80% of conference registrants take advantage of this unique training
opportunity and return home prepared to begin teaching marriage courses!
These in-depth sessions provide training for professionals, clergy and lay educators - you
do not need to be a mental health professional to take the training or teach the programs.
Research shows that lay educators teach the courses as well as - or better - than mental health professionals.
In the Institutes you will learn to present the courses; administer assessment tools;
and/or use the materials and techniques in your setting.
Each institute has a "click for more information" page that describes
the training in depth, explains certifications that will be awarded,
lists the materials included - or, not included in the registration fee, and explains any
prerequisites or recommended reading.
BE SURE to read the "more information" details in advance for any institute you
plan to attend.
Be sure your hotel & airline reservations allow you time to attend the full institute
trainings which begin at 8:30am and end at 5:30pm.
Partners and the public are also encouraged to attend. Even if you never plan to teach
the courses, these intensive sessions will help you learn skills and concepts
that will help strengthen your marriage, relationships and family.
Institutes are $135 per day with conference registration
or $185 per day without conference registration. In other words, if
you attend the conference, you get a discount on the Institutes.
- Institutes vary in length and are one, two or three days long.
- It is possible for each person to take only one pre and one post Institute.
- Course materials are included as noted on the 'click-for-more-information' page info for each institute.
Read each the fine print on each institute carefully.
- Spouse discount: $50 per day.
To qualify for spouse discount, both spouses must attend the SAME institute.
One spouse must pay the full Institute registration fee, and the second spouse then qualifies for
the $50 per day Institute discount. Couples taking the spouse discount will receive only
one set of materials. If you each want your own set of materials, do not register at the
spouse discount rate. Also note that some Institutes do not provide a spouse discount. Read
carefully.
