Flying back from Orlando a few days ago, I sat next to Max, who together with his dad and 8-year-old sister, had just finished their adventure at Disneyworld. Max who is 10 years old, will be in the fifth grade in September.

The following is a bit of his Disney adventure in his own words, as dictated to me:

“One must do at Disney’s Epcot a ride called, ‘Test Track.’ If you like fast and exhilarating rides you will definitively want to experience this ride. It’s exactly like the real thing. First you get into a test car. Next you buckle yourself up. Your car moves like a real car, first entering a hill-climbing test. It feels like you are going to drop like you are on a roller coaster. Then you enter a brake test. You are traveling about 80 miles an hour when you suddenly see an orange cone popping up in front of you, then the car automatically hits the brakes and you make a very sharp turn.

“Then you do a safety brake test stop while going about 100 miles an hour. Then you enter the rough roads test. Speed bumps and rocks are elevated into your way. As your car drives over them you feel as if your car is about to roll over. As you are just about to finish the test a huge semi-truck comes out of the pitch-dark and your car quickly turns around it.

“The final test is the most exciting. It’s really two tests in one. First, a barrier test combined and second, a fast turns test. You are going about 70 miles an hour when suddenly a metal wall appears, seemingly about 30 feet in front of you. And when you are just about to hit it, the metal wall slides open and you go into the last test, the fast turns test. In that phase you feel as if you are going about 150 miles an hour. Then as quick as it started, the fast and exhilarating ride ends, and you feel like you just experienced what a crash dummy must feel. “

Max’s dad agrees — it’s the best ride at Disney. Max on the other hand says it’s almost a three-way tie with “Mission Space” and “Sorin’.”

As Max says, “Go on these rides and you will have a magical time!”
