FREQUENTLY ASKED CE QUESTIONS: I'm only attending one day. How many CE credits will I earn? Please see the program-at-a-glance in the conference
brochure or on-line at program.html.
Hours vary by day and credits vary by professional boards. The CE instruction hours are written next to each
session. Add them for your total. If you attend the full conference plus all possible training institute hours,
banquet, Thurs Luncheon, and the Singles seminar Thurs night, you can earn up to 69 hours of CE.
I'm still not clear how the pricing and CE credits work. If I attend a training institute, how much will it cost? How many CE credits can I earn?
That of course, depends on which institute you attend. Some are one-day, some
two-day, some three-days.
Let's use the PREP 3-day pre-conference Institute as an example.
Institutes are $185 per day if you attend only institutes (you do not attend the conference.)
Institutes are $135 per day if you also attend the conference.
You earn 7.5 hrs of CE for each day of institute attendance.
You earn 26.75 hrs if you attend the full conference. The full conference includes
11 keynote plenary sessions, and seven 1.5-hr workshops.
You can also add the Fri night banquet & the Thurs lunch for an additional 1.75 & 1.25 hrs respectively for 30 hrs CE.
Full conference registration (Thurs 6:30pm - Sat 9:45 pm) is $365.
a.) If you attend only the three-day PREP pre-conference institute it would
cost $545 or $185 a day. You would earn 22.5 CEUs.
b.) If you attend the full conference ($365) and the
three-day PREP training institute ($405 at the
"with conference rate" of $135 per day) - you pay a total of $770.
You would earn 49.25 hrs CE.
In other words, you can attend the 3-day PREP institute
plus the entire 3-day conference -
including 11 keynote sessions & seven 90-min workshops and three built-in lunches
for only an additional $225 ($770 instead of $545 – in effect adding the full conference for $225.)
You can, also, of course, add a post conference institute at $135 and increase the number
of CEUs earned by 7.5 or 15 hrs. For example, you could attend the post-conference
EFT training, for an additional $135 per day for a total of $1040 and a total of 64.25 CEUs.
If you add the Fri night banquet ($39) and the Thurs Lunch ($26) and
increase any of the above CE totals by 2 hrs and 1.25 hrs - or, if you attend everything, bring your total to 67.5 hrs.
And, if you're single and attend the Singles Seminar on Thurs night (no additional fee),
you can add an additional 1.5 hrs and bring your total CE hrs to 69.
If I attend an institute, and it says I'm qualified or certified to teach the course, does that mean I'll also receive CEs for attending?
Attending various institutes can "certify" or "qualify" you to teach those programs
and/or to use the materials in your practice. This depends on which institute you
attend - click on the link "Click for more Information" on
each institute
descriptions for specifics.
The certification or qualification, if awarded, is awarded through the organization that is presenting/teaching the institute. Professional CE Certification is a totally separate issue/process. You will also receive CE credits for each day of institute training you attend.
To receive your CEs for the courses attended you will simply go to www.smartmarriages.com
after the conference and complete an on-line evaulation and print out your CE certification.
All your CE hours -- for institutes, conference workshops & keynotes, banquets --
for whatever you attend, will be included on one CE certificate.
There is no fee for this ON-LINE certification process.
Note that certain Instituttes do not qualify for CE credits.
